Ham and Vegetable Chowder

4 tsp. chicken granual
3 cups water
3 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
2 1/2 cups broccoli (I use frozen)
1 onion, chopped
1 cup carrots, sliced
1 cup celery, sliced
Put above ingredients in crock pot and cook on high 4 hours or low for 6-7 hours. About 1/2 hour before serving add:
3 cups pre-cooked ham, diced
white sauce
For white sauce melt 1/2 cup butter in sauce pan on medium heat. Slowly stir in 1/2 cup flour. Stir till smooth (approx 2 min.) Slowly add 4 cups milk. Boil and stir until thickened (approx 2 min).
3 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I like to mix my cheese in with the white sauce when it's done, but you can add it to the soup separately too.

We love this soup! I've also made this on the stovetop as well.
