Earthquake Cake

1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
1 German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. softened butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar

Spread 1 cup flaked coconut on the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread 1 cup chopped pecans over coconut. Mix 1 box German chocolate cake mix according to package directions. Pour on top of coconut and nuts.
Mix together 1/2 cup softened butter, 1 (8 ounce) package of softened cream cheese and 1 box powdered sugar until fluffy.
Drop from the spoon in "dollops" onto cake mix. DO NOT STIR! Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until tester comes out clean between the "dollops".

NOTE: The nuts and coconut represent rocks. The chocolate cake is the dirt. The butter mixture that cooks through the cake represents the lava from an earthquake.
