I decided I would post a couple of biscuit recipes in case you didn't have one you loved. And since I had just posted the tomato pie recipe, and it is better with homemade biscuits then store bought, I thought I'd give you some options. Biscuits are actually very easy to prepare and they are SO cheap. I don't know why you would ever use Bisquick or Pillsbury when you could have the real thing. All of the following biscuit recipes are my mom's. I have just copy and pasted them directly from her cookbook:
Easy drop biscuits with just the right amount of spice. Kind of taste like the ones at Red Lobster.
2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese grated
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon dry mustard
1 cup milk
6 or 8 tablespoons butter flavored shortening
garlic powder to taste
melted butter
Mix, flour, cayenne pepper and dry mustard in a large bowl. Cut in shortening. Fold in grated cheese. Add enough milk to make stiff dough that will drop from a spoon. Drop dough onto a greased pan by the tablespoon. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Bake in 450* oven for 12-15 minutes until nicely browned.

I love this blog! I have so many recipes from here that are in my "have to try" pile. I have actually made a couple of them and so far, no complaints here! I found this blog on Alyssa's blog (I'm Stephen's cousin) and would love to be included as one of your "little piggy's"! I have a few recipes that I would LOVE to share!
