Caramel Apple Dip

This is a recipe we tried for Brandon's Key Scouter Meeting. Of course, as luck would have itno one else remembered the meeting, so we didn't get to share it. But the recipe was great so no loss! We just got to enjoy it all to ourselves. The recipe said to serve this immediately, but we have had it in our refrigerator for a couple days now and actually feel it just gets better with time. Believe me, you will not go back to store-bought caramel dips.

16 caramels (unwrapped)
1/4 cup water
1 8oz package cream cheese
1/2 cup brown sugar

Place caramels and water in saucepan and heat until melted, stirring frequently. (You can also just do this in the microwave - which is what we did)
In a mixing bowl, cream together cream cheese and brown sugar until smooth. Add melted caramel and mix well.
Get out your apples and start dipping. SO YUMMY! Keep leftovers in the fridge.

And yet another recipe I'm adding to my "try" stack. Sounds yummy!

We tried this one today and it is definitely a hit in our house! The only alteration I would make is to omit the apples. There's really no need to dip anything into it...a spoon works nicely...or your finger! (yeah, it's that good!)

Yum thanks for sharing I never would've thought to add cream cheese! It sounds almost sinfully good!
