Caramel Apple Pie

I made this the other day for Brandon and he absolutely loved it! We made it even simpler by using a store bought pie crust and a quart of our homemade apple pie filling.


5 cups apples, peeled and sliced

½ cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

¼ cup flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice

8” unbaked pie shell

Combine all ingredients together and place in pie shell. Bake at 375* for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle with topping.

Topping:

6 ounce package butterscotch chips

¼ cup butter

¾ cup flour

Melt together butterscotch chips and butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Allow to cool slightly, add flour. Mix together and sprinkle over pie. Return to oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
