Minestrone

½ pound pork sausage
½ pound ground beef
4 cups water
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 large onion, chopped
2 medium carrots, sliced
2 medium celery ribs, diced
1 can (16 ounces) tomatoes, pureed
2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz.)
2 teaspoons crushed dried parsley
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon dried oregano
1 small bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
Garlic salt to taste
1 can garbanzo beans, drained
1 can green beans, un-drained
2/3 cup uncooked wide noodles, or other pasta (I use macaroni)

Brown meat in heavy kettle; drain. Dissolve bouillon cubes in water. Add onions, carrots, celery, tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, and seasonings. Simmer, covered 4-6 hours (I have also simmered it for only 1-2 hours, and it works fine). Thirty minutes before serving time, add beans and noodles. Simmer until noodles are tender. Makes 8 servings.

I just made this, it is always a treat... this time I didn't put in celery but put in carrots instead (carrott curls) also I added Zucchini at the same time I added the un-cooked noodles and it was awesome!
